"Goodbye..." Fading into twilight, the tall silhouette whispered.
There she stood alone. Abandoned, deserted and helpless.
Her eyes darted around, desperately searching the darkness for some sign. Reality eventually struck her and she gasped, hand shooting up to cover her mouth. The world blurred as warm tears flooded her eyes, threatening to spill over her lower lids.
Instinct took over and she turned, sprinting forward into the unknown abyss. Minutes passed as her breathing strained but her mind pushed her on.
Faster, faster!
"BANG." A deafening sound stopped her.
Knees buckling, she collapsed hard onto the ground. Laying askewed, her clammy hands grabbed uselessly at her neck. Attempting to stop the warm dark liquid from draining life out of her.
